ON THE FOURTH OF JULY!

Family! Fireworks! Food! Holiday! Time off! Dad’s birthday! Red, White, and Blue! These are the things I will be thinking about on the fourth of July. Every year my family gets together to make this a time to remember and I know we will do the same this year. We see family we have not seen since last year and catch up on old times. We also talk about the loved ones that we have lost along the way. Paying a special tribute to them for a moment is something that is a must at family events. A tradition I hope will travel down to our children, and with that being said. Last but not least I want to wish my dad a Happy Birthday on July 4th!!

I hope everyone has the time of their life on this day and be safe. We often do not worry about the dynamics of having fireworks in our mist. We have to think about the safety of our loved ones and the people around us. So please be careful when you are celebrating the fourth of July this year. You can have a good time and keep safety in mind!

Let's Save Our Earth!

There are so many things that we can do to save our planet. If we all ban together the earth will last a lot longer than it is expected to last. If you do not know of any ways to save the planet I am going to list a few of them in this blog. The first thing you can do is change out your lights to fluorescent lights. This helps with pollution reduction. You can turn off your computer to save 40 watt hours a day. You save $14 a year by doing this.You save 40 gallons of water by not rinsing your dishes before putting them in the rinse cycle first. The last thing I am going to tell you you can do is recycle. At my place of employment they are big on recycling. They have containers for plastic, paper, and bottles. I think everyone should try this. It will help out the planet in the long run. Do you know of any ideas to save the planet. Please respond with ways for our readers to save the planet.

BET AWARDS 2011

Like or dislike? I found it to be both fun and a blast to the past. I enjoyed seeing Chris Brown's performance. He is really a showman when it comes to his art. I feel like he really puts a lot of thought and detail into each step that he makes. I give his performance an A+! The host of the show, Kevin Hart came out with a little dance team and they were great. He was almost as short as they were. I thought the skit that Nick, Nellie, Bobby, and Kevin performed made for great humor.

I thought it was a great idea to bring back some of our hits from the early days. I love the Five Heartbeats! I just thought they would have done more. I understand that they are not really the group but I would have loved to see them come out from under the shadows and performed more. All in all it was a great show and I am looking forward to next year's performance.

Stars! Stars! Stars!

What are we normal people to do?! I find it so insulting to the public when stars commit the same crimes as other people and get off with a slap on the hand. I think anyone who commits a crime should be subject to the same punishment as regular people. I see stars stories where they have been caught drinking and driving numerous times but because they are who they are a slap on the wrist is given. There have been stars using drugs and given a sentence but later just do a couple of hours in jail and are let go. There have even been stories where young celebs are dating people that are legally adults but it is okay and cute. People this is wrong. What are we saying to todays youth?! I can not believe society has gotten this bad. The only way a celeb pays for what they do is if they commit murder and I pray to God they think before they take someones life. This is wrong. Please do not follow in the bad steps of some of these celebs. Drinking and driving is wrong. Committing any harm to anyone else is wrong. We need more positive celebrities in our mist. We need ones that fight against the wrongs that could hurt themselves or anyone else. Think about this before you follow in the steps of the next bad boy or girl! Shine with a positive life and you will have positive future!

You Are Beautiful!

Todays teenagers have so much to deal with on a daily basis. They have to deal with peer pressure from friends and some adults. This does not effect all teenagers but the ones that have this burden on them do not know how special they are. You should not have to feel bad because of the way you look or dress. You do not have to let others pressure you into doing something bad. In my opinion, teens often feel the urge to fit in and do not think about what could happen if they make a misstep in life. We are put on this earth with so many different opinions, ideas, and personalities. This earth would be so boring if each of us were the same. I think if you are making a positive impact on your life and others then strive to be the best you can be. If you have any questions about the decisions you should make please seek the advice of the supervising adult in your life. Remember that we are all beautiful in our own way!

Just Home

Can our troops really get the chance to come home in 2012? We have lost so many people to this war that it is just plain heartbreaking. We have lost family and friends. I look back to when this all began and it hits a deep place in my heart. I can say that I do remember where I was on September 11, 2001. I was just coming home, ironic right? I had to attend my grandmothers funeral in Washington D.C. We pulled out on the 10th and got home on the 11th. As I walked into my mothers living room she was watching television. She said the twin towers have been hit. I could not believe this. I was in total shock! I left so many friends and family in DC. I felt the need to get in touch with them. I have family that works for the government and that are in the military, so I was terrified. Thank God they were all okay. Now I sit here ten years later and we are still at war. I pray every day that our troops come home. I still have family fighting for the rights of all that deserve and need it. So to Obama I say if you can bring our troops home, Thank You!!

The top 16 of So You Think You Can Dance!

Missy and Wadi, Iveta and Nick, and Ryan and Ricky were the dancers that were put in the bottom on the show. I felt like Wadi was going to be there after he could not take criticism from the judges. They are there to help you learn and if you can not listen to what they have to say, then why are you there. He said some smart remarks after Debbie Reynolds was the only one to complement him on his cha cha. Missy, however; had stolen the show from him. I guess he felt discouraged but should not have let them see him in that state of mind. I think Iveta and Nick did a good job but someone had to go in the bottom along with Missy and Wadi. They did a Bollywood routine but people in the USA may not understand the dance as well as someone from the country of origin. The last couple in the bottom was Ryan and Ricky. They danced for their lives perfectly. I could tell in Ricky's dance that he was putting everything on the line and he did that for us! Ryan is just a star on the stage. They danced a jazz routine that I felt was great but in the end their dance to save their lives did just that. The other couples were sent home. It was a sad show at the end but we got to get to the finale some way!

Hey where are your beads!!! Every year my family has a family reunion with my mom in charge of all details. We decide on a theme each year. One year we did just the fourth of July color theme. The last year we had a Hawaiian luau. We had the kids standing at the door handing out lei to put on your neck. It was a real fun time. This year it is the theme of mardi gras. We have ordered mask to where and are cooking meals that remind you of "Fat Tuesday." We have a big mask that you can stand against and have your picture taken. The family will have the chance to participate in the family talent show. It is sure to be a real treat. Door prizes will be given away to some lucky winners! So if you are having a family activity I encourage a theme to get the young kids motivated and excited about the event. Now next year will be fun to decide on. If you have any ideas about what our family theme should be for next year send me ideas. The reunion is always on July 4th. So send in your ideas I would love to read them! Thanks!!

A Little Love Snack

Somebody Please, tell me what the problem is? I think it is okay for her to serve her man. There are many of you out there that have had your mate feed you or you have feed them in a cute loving moment. We want to be so quick to criticize her and say you should not be doing that. I think that is not right. Just because they are stars they can not share a loving moment? They are a people just like we are. A lot of times people demand explanations from stars just because they are in the public eye but that is crazy. How would you feel if someone demanded to know why you have created the actions you have did or went to that area? I say live your life and let others live theres. Passions!!

I was just looking at this website dedicated to soaps and saw Passions. I really miss that show. It was filled with humor. It also had Luis and Sheridan. I thought they were the super couple of the show. he was always her night in shining armor. The only negative thing I hated was the fake monsters, witches, and ghost. They really took it too far with that. When they had an episode about the actual cast it was a great show. I did feel sad when Timmy (Josh Ryan Evans)died. He was a good actor. He will be missed. I think they should dedicate a television channel to all the old soaps that have been canceled I would love to revisit the old soaps!!

First Day of Summer!!!

Okay, so it is the first day of summer! What are you doing for fun? Are there any activities that come to mind. Whether you travel or stay in doors this summer it is sure to be a hot one. I suggest finding a pool and relaxing by it. Let the kids soak their little feet in some cool water this summer. Summer is a time for fun. I am so happy to see some of the familiar faces returning to Days. I have missed Deidre Hall (Marlena) and Drake Hogestyn (John). They are what the show is about. I was surprised when they were no longer apart of the show so long ago. It has not been the same. I am also glad to see Matthew Ashford (Jack) is coming back to Days. It seems like old times again. Let Kristian Alfonso (Hope) and Peter Reckell (Bo) stay together. I do not know what took them so long to get rid of Crystal Chappell (Carly). Now they need to rid the show of Molly Burnett (Melanie). If I see her stumble with her words one more time or play with her fingers while she talks I am going to be sick. Hurry and give me my old Days!!

Funny

This by far is one the most funniest movies of all time in my book. Rob Schneider did not disappoint. The laughter was contagious as my family sat there and watched the whole movie. The whole cast had perfect timing. Tia and Tamera, Anna Faris, and Matthew Lawrence were priceless. I hope any one looking for a good laugh for tonight look for this movie. I give it a A+.

You have got to experience this water park on your next vacation. I hope it is in Orlando. They have a great way for the public to cool off after you have left the exciting theme parks. You can let your kids play in the kid area with the supervision of an adult and cool off while having the time of their lives. This is really a family must do on vacation!!

I was a big fan of ABDC when they had crews like the Jabbawockeez, Super Cr3w, and Quest Crew on it. When you start letting children compete with adults it seems pointless. I think they should have had a kids version of the show. I saw a lot of great crews get cut because Lil Mama, and JC Chasez. Dominic “D-Trix” Sandoval was real in one episode when he stated if they were adults it would be a different story. I agree with him on this point. Iconic Boyz did not have a place among the adults to me. I would have wanted them to compete against kids. ABDC split up your youth from adults next time!!!

We will get a chance to see all the Kardashians.They are sure to showcase a great show tonight. I am waiting on Scott and Kourtney's antics. I want to see what Lamar and Khloe are up too. I am hoping she is near getting pregnant. Girl do not stress yourself on keeping your man if it do not happen soon. Kim will probably show that big rock off. So Kim finally found the one. I have heard that rock she is sporting on her hand is something to be reckoned with! I think she will have a large wedding, after all the Kardashians are known for going big or going home. All I have seen is the big. They have usually speak their minds and keep things real. I think in helping with Kim K.'s wedding there will be no exception there. I wonder where she and her fiancée will make things official. I sure where ever they do it, it will be as pretty as Khloe's was. I just had to make this the blog of the day because I am a dedicated viewer of all of the Kardashian shows and can not wait to see this wedding on television! Congratulations!

So You Think You Can Dance

Let me start off by saying, I love this show. They have some of the best dancers in the world. Right now I am watching the top twenty perform, and they are not disappointing me at all. I did have my moments of crying the last couple of episodes when the contestants told what it took to get them there. Some of them have led some hard lives and have only had dance to see them through. I am very glad to see a past contestant back again this season as a choreographer. He did some sick choreography last season! I just want to say Travis your work is genius. I will be updating you on how the show proceeds throughout the season! Good luck to all the contestants!

I advise anyone going on vacation to visit Orlando Florida. My family goes every year. We enjoy the excitement of the trip. We have a meeting to discuss the hotel we will stay in and gather prices. Remembering to always stay on International Drive. We visit either Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. We prefer Universal. We walk the strip at night and love to buy souvenirs for ourselves or gifts for others. We are big seafood lovers so finding a great seafood place is key! Red Lobster always hits the spot. We often go to Wet n Wild too. Our kids love the water park. It is so clean and nice. On days where we want to be low key the pool is the place for us. A van is rented and we travel in packs so we can enjoy our children and each other. This is a time in my life that I would not trade!! It is always good to have a trusted person in charge of activities and one in charge of money! It does not matter how many times we go, we love it!! Do not forget Citywalk while you are there! The music and atmosphere is awesome!! Take this journey and you will not be sorry!!

School Bullies!

Today I want to talk about something serious, school bullies.I have always hated school bullies. My heart goes out to all kids that have been bullied because they can't afford the newest clothes, homes, or car. Why must we belittle people? Children are being pushed to killing themselves or others. No one should have to die. I know this kid who said a child had posted on a social networking site that she planned to kill the kids who have bullied her. They informed their teachers, and it is alleged that they just laughed and said "Nothing is gonna happen." Why take that chance? Please children get counseling if you are thinking of hurting yourselves or others. You are more special than you realize. I pray that this child takes a look at herself and decides it's not worth it. 

New Day!

It is a new day for me. I have started school at Lincoln College Online. I am getting my bachelors degree in Business Management. I feel like my life is getting better. I was laid off from my job of 11 years and decided to attend school. I got my diploma in Business Administration in December of 2010. I am ready for this new challenge. I want to start my own business. I believe this can happen when I finish school in three years. I want to know what you think about parents that go back to school and try to make a difference.

Listen Ladies!!!

Ladies you do not have to wear highlighter clothes to look beautiful. Some of the most beautiful people in the world are natural looking. I see people with their hair every color of the rainbow and it's crazy! I have seen the American flag colors, people's favorite sports team, and their favorite colors. Please let the hot pink, neon green, and high yellow colors go! You will find that the opposite gender will look at you more and you will get more opportunities. This is just something you need to think about!

Fire!!

It has been very smoky in south Georgia. Wildfires have been burning. I can see the smoke in the air. I am hoping and praying that the fire does not hit my town, but it is so close you never know. I think about the people in the cities that have experienced this fire and hope the were able to salvage some of their memories but more importantly their lives. In one moment it can all be taken away from you. That picture you took on a lazy afternoon, that gift that was made for you by your six year old daughter that is now 26, and that one scratch on the screen door that was made by a loved one that is no longer with you. Please keep everyone in Georgia in your prayers!.

Too Grown Up!!

I have seen stars on television and their kids. I have to say that they let them dress any way they want to. I have seen them on talk shows talking to grown ups like they are their equal. I feel like it is ridiculous. I don't care if your child is becoming a star, there is a time when you have to become a parent first. I have seen this kid on television trying to be Lady Gaga and she is about 10 years old. I fault the parent. It is crazy! Wake up parents!!

Sister Wives

I know you have heard of the show on TLC called Sister Wives. It is about four women named Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn who are married to a man named Kody. In total they have 16 children. They all live in one house and seem to make it work. Meri as a result of appearing on the show has lost her job. The family has now decided to move out of state. How many of you think this is a great idea? I can't do it. I want to know what you think of this situation.

The Golden Girls!

I love the Golden Girls! There will never be another group of ladies that did what they did! Each one ruled the show in their own way. I never thought so many young people would love the show until I was in class one day and a young lady about 20 years old cell phone ring tone went off. The song was the theme from the Golden Girls. Every woman in the class yelled those my girls! So to Rose (Betty White), Blanche (Rue McClanahan), Sohia (Estelle Getty), and Dorothy (Bea Arthur) we salute you!

Dog Love!!

I have nothing against having pets. My daughter has had a dog and rabbit before I  had to realize she was allergic to dogs and cats. I see people on the internet, television, on the street and in pictures kissing dogs! Why? They drink out of the toilet. I don't care what science says about their mouth being cleaner than a human, I wont kiss them. They lick their you know what, eat garbage and who knows what else! Come on people think. Tell me what's on your mind about this issue!

10,000 Japan

I just had to sit back and think when I saw this on the Internet today. Mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are gone. These were people that thought they had their whole lives to live. I urge you to give to them if you can afford it. It wont replace family and friends that are gone but it is a step in the right direction to rebuild their lives. What do you think? I want to know.

Japan, I Pray.

I hate what has happened to Japan. I pray for all of the families involved. We as the world not as a nation or diverse country should ban together to rebuild the lives of all the people that are in need. I hope they can get their lives together after this and remember the people that they have lost and celebrate their lives and legacy. My prayers are with you Japan.

They are now saying Charlie arranged his rants. That is alleged! I don't know if that is true or not. In time we will know. He was paid a butt load of money to play that part. When they do get another person to replace him it will not be the same show! What's on your mind abou this?

Days of Our Lives

Why don't they get rid of Melanie and Carly already? I am so tired of them. They do not really have a great story line to me. I want EJ and Sami together. Put Nicole and Rafe together. The sister should be a shamed of herself fawning over EJ. What's going on Days?

Charlie Sheen

Did Charlie really get fired?! OMG! What are they going to do about the show. Once you start changing up things the show will not be the same. I think they should think about this. Wait, the damage may already be done. 

Coming Home

I think this is a good show. Just to see the kids faces when their parents come home from Iraq is breath taking. I felt so happy for them. I was glad they were reunited! I hope to see more of these shows. I saw older people greeting family members too! It has made a big impact in my opinion on all families that watch it!

Holly's World

I felt like tonights episode was a good one. Angel tried her hardest to be professional. Jade just would not let things go. She kept trying to degrade Angel. So Angel got that butt. I felt like she was right. Jade will think twice next time.

What Age is to Old For Kids?

I have seen parents in their late thirties and late forties having children. I listen to what people say and they down them for having children at that age. I don't see a problem with it. Do you? I feel like as long as you can love your child and provide for them in a positive home life you should be able to have as many kids as you can handle? What is your thoughts on this? What's on your mind?

I would like to say one of my favorite movies is "Christmas Shoes." It's about a little boy who mom is dying. All he wants to do is earn enough money for her to buy her some shoes because she use to be a dancer. When asked what he wanted his mom to do, he said dance when she got to heaven! I cried like a new born baby watching this. You have got to check it out.

I just want to say this about low riding. I have no problem with low riding when I do not see your underwear. I should not  have to see your underwear if we are not in a relationship. Don't get me wrong I love reality tv, but it seems like every star out their is getting their own show. What do you think about this? Vacation Time Yet?

My family goes on vacation every year to Orlando Florida. We have a great time. We walk down International Drive and visit the theme parks. It is a chance for my whole family to bond. I would like to know what your family does to bond? And does this experience work?
